# Connect your AI to SearchTheTrend

> Plug Claude or ChatGPT into your SearchTheTrend data and research winning products, ads and competitors by just asking.

SearchTheTrend ships a remote **MCP server**. MCP is the open standard that Claude, ChatGPT and most AI assistants use to call external tools. Once connected, your assistant can search trending products, dissect any tracked brand's funnels, pull winning ad creatives with their copy, watch your saved lists, and even launch live brand scans, all in natural language.

## The 30-second version

    In **claude.ai** or **ChatGPT**: Settings → Connectors → *Add custom connector* → paste the URL.

    Click **Connect** and log in with your SearchTheTrend account. That's it. **No API key needed.**

## Two ways to authenticate

| **OAuth (recommended)** | claude.ai, ChatGPT, Claude Desktop                        | Paste the URL, click Connect, sign in. Your assistant acts as *you*: it sees your saved lists and spends your credits only after asking. |
| **API key**             | Claude Code, Cursor, gemini-cli and other developer tools | Generate an `stt_...` key in [Settings → Connect your AI](https://searchthetrend.com/settings/mcp) and send it as a Bearer header.       |
